After part-exchanging your car, you must notify the DVLA to remove the car from your name and cancel road tax, but only after handing the car over. Keep road tax and insurance active until handover for legal driving. Notify the DVLA online or by posting the yellow slip (Section 3) of your V5C, and contact your insurer directly to cancel insurance.
Do I need to cancel the tax and insurance on my part-exchange?
