How do I make a claim on my GAP insurance?

You must notify AutoTrust:
✔️ within 120 days of the total loss, and
✔️ before accepting a settlement from your car insurance provider
They’ll guide you through the claim and what documents you’ll need.
What happens when my GAP policy ends?
Your cover ends on the end date shown in your policy schedule.
cinch doesn’t currently offer the option to renew GAP insurance.
What’s the cancellation policy on GAP insurance?
Within the 30‑day cooling‑off period
You’ll receive a full refund, as long as you haven’t made a successful claim.
The cooling‑off period starts on:
✔️ The policy start date, or
✔️ The day you receive your policy documents (whichever is later)
After the cooling‑off period
You can still cancel anytime.
You’ll receive a pro‑rata refund for the remaining cover, minus an administration fee, in line with the terms and conditions.
